The paintings are located in the old knights’ hall of Trostburg Castle above Waidbruck. The 11 portraits of emperors and kings from the collection of Engelhard-Dietrich von Wolkenstein Trostburg (1566-1647) were acquired by Bernhard Baron Hohenbühel (1922-1999) from the Counts Wolkenstein. There are 11 portraits of emperors and kings and one of a nephew of Engelhard-Dierich von Wolkenstein-Trostburg. The emperors and kings are depicted with their regalia, some of them richly decorated. Marcus Osbaldus von Wolkenstein also has a very detailed and richly decorated suit of armour.
